Restore Scratched, Dull & Worn Travertine.
Our Travertine Restoration service restores worn, scratched, etched, and dull floors. We deep clean the stone, fill appropriate holes with epoxy, then hone with the Bonastre diamond system to reduce surface damage and restore a smooth, even finish.
Choose from Satin, Semi-Gloss, or High-Shine. We finish by applying a penetrating sealer to help protect your newly restored travertine.
Our Restoration Process
PROFESSIONAL DEEP CLEANING
Every restoration begins with a thorough cleaning of the travertine and grout. We apply a professional stone-safe cleaner, allow it to dwell, mechanically agitate the surface, and use our truck-mounted extraction equipment to remove embedded dirt and contamination.
Starting with a properly cleaned surface allows us to accurately evaluate the condition of the stone before beginning the honing and restoration process.
HOLE & VOID REPAIR
Travertine naturally contains holes and voids that may become exposed as factory fill deteriorates over time. After cleaning, appropriate holes can be filled using a color-matched epoxy repair material.
Once cured, the repairs are refined during the honing process to create a smoother and more consistent finished surface
DIAMOND HONING
This is where the actual restoration takes place.
Using the Bonastre system and professional diamond resin pads, we progressively hone the travertine to refine the surface and reduce scratches, etching, wear patterns, and inconsistencies.
The level of honing required depends on the existing condition of the stone and the final finish selected.
POLISHING & FINISHING
After honing, we bring the travertine to your selected finish—Satin, Semi-Gloss, or High-Shine.
For polished finishes, professional polishing compounds are used to further refine the stone and develop greater clarity and reflection. The goal is not simply to make the floor shiny, but to create an even, consistent finish throughout the entire surface.
PENETRATING SEALER
After the restoration is complete, we apply a professional penetrating stone sealer to the travertine and grout.
The sealer absorbs below the surface to help protect the porous stone against spills, staining, and contamination without leaving a topical coating over the floor.
